When Your Body Goes Quiet, It Isn’t Broken

January 26, 20261 min read

There’s a particular kind of ache that comes from realizing something inside you has gone still.
Not numb exactly, just quieter than it used to be.

The fear isn’t only about what’s missing.
It’s the worry that this quiet means something is wrong with you.

But here’s the thing, when a body has been living under stress, conflict, or emotional unpredictability, it often learns to protect by conserving. Desire, creativity, and openness don’t disappear. They retreat until safety returns.

The work is not forcing yourself to feel again or questioning your worth because you don’t.
It is noticing what your body has been guarding and asking what it needs to feel safe enough to open.

Quiet isn’t the end of your vitality.
It’s often the pause before repair.

You’re allowed to move slowly here.

When safety is missing, the body conserves. When safety returns, aliveness follows.

A gentle place to pause and ask yourself: What has your body been protecting you from lately?
